JCPenney welcomed the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County’s Youth of the Year, Imani Mogaka, to its North East Mall location in Hurst, Texas, for a shopping spree and personal styling session.
See how JCPenney associate Gabriella Rivera-Camereno helped Imani select the perfect look for the Texas State Youth of the Year competition held on March 29, where she was one of 14 local teens nominated to compete for the state title.
Imani, a 17-year-old junior at Arlington-Lamar High School, has been a member of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County since 2013. She has shown great leadership by dedicating countless hours to serving others while excelling academically, maintaining a 3.9 GPA and ranking 34 out of her class of 660.
“Gabriella and Imani connected on so many levels and had many things in common, which made this experience so fun,” said LaToyia Greyer, Area Director for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County. “By assisting Imani, Gabriella was able to boost her confidence and really make her feel special.”
Partner organizations like the Boys & Girls Clubs are critical to helping JCPenney fulfill its commitment to closing the opportunity gap. JCPenney is proud to help promising students like Imani look and feel their best as they prepare for next steps in their academic and professional careers.
