Earlier this year, we launched Lionel Richie Home exclusively at JCPenney.com and now we’re bringing Richie’s home collection into approximately 250 JCPenney stores beginning Sept. 7. We know customers will be sleeping “all night long” when they take home beautiful, classic bedding inspired by the Grammy® award winner’s travels and his own modern design aesthetic.
Richie’s namesake brand includes comforters, quilts, sheets, decorative pillows and bath towels designed to coordinate with our popular private brand, JCPenney Home, so customers can mix and match products from each collection to create their own personal oasis. In stores, fans of the music legend will be thrilled to find a life size cut out of Richie prominently displayed in the Lionel Richie Home shop – perfect for selfies – along with two display beds showcasing his beautiful bedding collections.
To celebrate the launch of Lionel Richie Home in select stores, Richie himself stopped by the JCPenney Home Office in Plano, Texas, on Aug. 13 to surprise and delight associates. He walked on set during a live broadcast to stores, shocking the show’s hosts and viewing audience. Richie was also the special guest in a new hire orientation training. He surprised two super fans with flower deliveries at their desks and stunned the entire Home merchandising team when he interrupted a department meeting. Richie concluded the day with an inspirational pep rally to say “hello” to associates and get them pumped up about his new collection. Our associates could not be more excited to bring Lionel Richie Home to JCPenney customers.
