JCPenney Recognizes Breast Cancer Awareness Month

This October, we’re inviting our customers and associates to join us in recognizing National Breast Cancer Awareness Month by supporting various initiatives benefitting the American Cancer Society®, the nation’s largest non-profit investor in cancer research. The American Cancer Society has invested more than $4.3B in breast cancer research since 1946, and has raised more than $750M to help finish the fight against breast cancer through their signature Making Strides Against Breast Cancer® walks.

From now through Oct. 31, $1 for every item sold from our Xersion® “Race Together” collection, up to $100,000, will be contributed to the American Cancer Society in support of the organization’s breast cancer research and awareness programs. Customers can choose from a variety of stylish activewear looks across our men’s, women’s and children’s departments, including breast cancer awareness graphic tees, yoga pants, running shorts, hoodies, tanks and more.

Shoppers can locate the merchandise in special “Give Hope. Save Lives.” merchandise displays throughout the store, as well as online at jcp.com/pinkshop. JCPenney also carries a variety of breast cancer awareness merchandise from fashion jewelry to athletic footwear and intimate apparel that allow customers to show their support for such a worthy cause.

Our jcp salon and The Salon by InStyle locations are also getting involved by contributing $2, up to $50,000, to the organization for every haircut service provided Oct. 7-8.  Salon stylists will also visit American Cancer Society Hope Lodge® communities across the country to pamper patients undergoing treatment for cancer away from home.

Additionally, on Oct. 15, we will host a private event in both our Stonebriar Mall store in Frisco, Texas, and Glendale Galleria store in Glendale, Calif., treating breast cancer survivors to mini makeovers by our salon and Sephora inside JCPenney associates. We’re also encouraging our associates to participate in Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks taking place across the country throughout the month of October.

We’re committed to saving lives from breast cancer and hope you will join us in our continued support this October.
